About the Job
One million merchants have bet their success on the reliability and performance of the Shopify platform. Uptime, resiliency and efficiency are critical to these businesses and as a result of Shopify's rapid growth and massive scale, we have many interesting and challenging infrastructure problems to solve. Our team builds and maintains Shopify’s critical infrastructure through software and systems engineering. We build the tools that build the infrastructure that powers Shopify’s app platform.
We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about performance at scale, accessibility, and building for the long-term. You’ll have a real desire for solving tough problems with performant code.
Our teams deploy new code many times a day, on a massive production scale. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of online stores, and hundreds of millions of requests a day. With both entrepreneurs and household brands depending on us for their livelihood, it’s a tough, but incredibly rewarding responsibility.
You will be joining a balanced team of junior and senior developers ready for a lead, and will spend an initial period building context and credibility as an individual contributor. Following a successful onboarding period your role will grow to include supporting the team and technology as its development manager.
