Travel Technology Developer (Java)

The Travel Technology is responsible for the design, development and support of our travel consultant point-of-sale applications used for increasing productivity through standardizing and streamlining PNR transactions. The role requires close collaboration with Operations and technical teams to produce scripted functions to satisfy complex business requirements.



The ideal candidate would understand TMC operations and have the technical experience described below.


This individual must be able to work with minimal instruction and oversight, and manage delivery of high quality output in a dynamic work environment with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraints.


Responsibilities



Job Duties:






  • Design, develop and test point-of-sale applicable (Java-based) to meet documented requirements


  • Recommend best practices for enterprise app deployment

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure proper interfacing with other products and processes while considering downline impact

  • Collaborate with Training Department on producing high-quality end-user documentation and training on application functionality


  • Troubleshoot reported issues and communicate applicable resolutions and timelines






Qualifications



Technical:



  • Java programming experience


  • UI frameworks including JS frameworks


  • SQL

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook






General skills:



  • Ability to convert abstract ideas into functional process


  • Flexibility and ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate necessary script release deadlines and provide post release support


  • Ability to identify and comprehend potential downstream impact of changes to a process


  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritize and organize effectively


  • Ability to work with minimal supervision Qualified candidates with experience/knowledge in the following will receive special consideration.


    • Sabre GDS and Sabre Red 360 platform


    • Eclipse


    • Sabre Scribe script design and development


    • Travel consultant workflow design


    • PNR life-cycle: point-of-sale, mid-office automation and back office interfacing


    • Using and/or designing Sabre Red apps
