Lead Backend Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer


DEG, a platinum Salesforce partner, is seeking a Lead Backend Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer to provide technical leadership and expertise for the Salesforce Commerce Cloud practice. The Lead Backend Developer works within the Engineering department, while collaborating with the Salesforce Solutions practice, developing and implementing solutions for customers on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform. The Lead Backend Developer is a technical consultant with deep application and feature knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud, as well as specific technology domain expertise. This person must have strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.

  • Develop high quality technical solutions via technology (code) and process

  • Answer customer questions about site functionality

  • Escalation point for fellow developers who get stuck or need help

  • Perform break fix and new feature requests

  • Contribute to more advanced strategy consulting, analytics, and Business Manager operations

  • Installing and integrating new cartridges

  • Identify, document, & prioritize technical debt

  • Performing client build & release operations (merging and replicating when needed)

  • Configuring build tools

  • Represent DEG in meetings with customers and business managers (virtually/teleconference)

  • Work closely with project managers to provide development estimates and risk assessment

  • Develop & review project, feature, bug-fix documentation

  • Collaborate with fellow developers to accomplish tasks & bypass blockers

  • Perform code reviews and help team members improve the quality of their work

  • Always be cognizant of how your work is contributing to the project being on time, on budget, and high quality

  • Participate in daily stand-up to provide clear communication of current status and blockers

  • Assist in sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospective and sprint demos when appropriate

  • Contribute to Xchange community by posting questions or solutions in discussion forums, blogs, and document


  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform

  • Experience building and maintaining pipelines and controllers

  • Experience integrating and customizing LINK Cartridges

  • Experience creating and managing custom jobs and 3rd party service calls
