About the role 



This is a fully remote role, we will consider applicants based in North America, South America and Europe

This position will be a cornerstone of the data team working with internal and external engineers and technologists, designers, business leadership, and partners.  We are building a data team of highly motivated self-starters who possess sound business acumen, make data-driven decisions, and clearly communicate their vision and plans to others. We are seeking people who are professional but know how to have fun too!



You will be Kraken’s Data Governance Manager.  The cross-functional leader that manages Kraken’s data governance solutions to improve our data quality and protect sensitive data through the modification of our organization’s behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.  You implement scalable solutions to data governance challenges using industry best practices,  and will help us evolve our current set of governance processes, roles & responsibilities through the entire organization. You develop a deep understanding of Kraken’s products, a deep empathy for customers and a clear vision of how governance practices should evolve to maintain data quality and data security that help speed up the organization's ability to execute.



You have a proven track record of leading and scaling data products in a . You are a self-starter, results driven and passionate to drive success of products at Kraken using the power of data analytics.





Responsibilities



    • Build the vision, strategy and roadmaps for Kraken’s data governance solutions to help us scale our data governance capabilities and increase our data governance maturity

    • Operationalize and roll out scalable governance processes

    • Create an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture

    • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets

    • Perform industry research to evolve strategy, policy, and process 

    • Develop & maintain documentation of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners

    • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements




Requirements



    • Functional experience in Product Lifecycle Management, Operations, Business Process Management,  a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    • 5 years experience in supply chain business processes, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.

    • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection

    • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices

    • Macro-to-micro versatility: strategic mindset coupled with a keen attention to detail 

    • Well-rounded interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with diverse personalities 

    • Outstanding organizational and communication skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities 

    • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues




Nice to Have


    • Knowledge of blockchain data
