About the Role

Kraken completed the acquisition of Crypto Facilities in February 2019, a world-leading, regulated cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform (MTF). We are looking for a MTF Head of Sales.

As the MTF Head of Sales, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with prominent institutions in the traditional finance and cryptocurrency industries to seek out opportunities to grow the membership and trading volume of the MTF.

You will take a key role in executing and refining the firm’s go to market strategy and work closely with group marketing teams to fulfill the firm’s commercial objectives. You will have a strong understanding of the traditional use cases for trading regulated derivatives amongst different target segments but also be a creative thinker that can seek out new use cases in the developing cryptocurrency ecosystem.

The ideal candidate should have experience working for a regulated trading venue, with a deep understanding of requirements applicable to trading activity under MiFID II/MiFIR being preferred. 


    • This is a dynamic role in a fast-changing business - but for example you will:

    • Build, maintain and expand relationships with the firm’s key members and prospects to drive revenues

    • Articulate and market the key benefits of the firm’s products to potential members

    • Create a sales framework to generate leads, systematically pitch and convert prospects into members of the MTF

    • Collect market intelligence and member feedback to help inform the product strategy

    • Work closely with the content and marketing teams to convert awareness and interest into business opportunities

    • Liaise with MTF Operations team to seamlessly facilitate client onboarding


    • Over 5 years’ experience in Legacy Finance Institutional Sales, preferably at a trading venue

    • An extensive network in EU Financial industry with a strong focus on derivatives and complex financial products

    • Experience with crypto/legacy markets trading systems and knowledge of current trends facing legacy institutions/trading desks directly

    • Strong interest in and familiarity with both cryptocurrency and traditional financial industries

    • Experience managing multiple direct reports

    • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience

    • Demonstrated personal and professional security and privacy hygiene

    • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent attention to detail and follow through

    • Ability to deconstruct convoluted problems and develop precise plans of action
