Product Director, Shop Pay (Remote, Americas)

Shop is the first mobile app that keeps Buyers up to date on all their favourite merchants, including notifications for new product launches and timely deals. Shop offers buyers multiple benefits, including fast and efficient checkouts with Shop Pay, and seamless, real-time updates on your order’s journey. We’ve even built in a way for buyers to see how their purchases made with Shop Pay will offset delivery emissions via carbon neutral product shipping. We’re looking for a Director of Product to take Shop Pay to the next level.

As the Director of Product for this group, you will own the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap of the Shop Pay platform. These are the early days for Shop Pay, so the team is small but primed for major growth. You'll take on a player/coach role to lead both people and projects. You are someone that’s equally well versed in leading product teams at scale, as you are in developing and executing on commercial strategies.

Shop Pay is heavily reliant on trusting partnerships with other internal teams, 3rd parties, and our community. You should have experience navigating conflicting priorities and building trust with various types of stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys defining and building new businesses by getting deeply involved in strategy, as well as tactics and execution.

What You'll Do

    • Oversee the Shop Pay product team in planning, executing and driving towards the world’s highest converting and most loved checkout option

    • Mentor and grow the Shop Pay product team

    • Manage partner relationships and advocate for Shop Pay with internal and external stakeholders

    • Understand merchant adoption and pain-points of Shop Pay to identify growth opportunities

    • Participate in the development of the strategy for the entire Shop product group

What You Bring To The Table

    • Hands-on experience driving the development of complex global products at a high-growth technology company, with a focus on customer user experience

    • Ideally you've worked with consumer facing payments tech/software, and can leverage that experience

    • Internal & external stakeholder management, having worked with customers, 3rd party partners, designers, engineers, marketers, legal teams, and commercial teams

    • Uses a systems thinking approach, and understands the importance of using data to inform product decisions. Bonus points for conceptual data modelling experience

    • Not afraid of the technical side of Product - you don’t need to have been a developer, but you should be able to facilitate technical product discussions and provide feedback on the technical and architectural design.
